Project Overview
The vinyl armrest in this Kia Carnival had developed deep cracks and a tear in the covering. The damaged area was clearly visible against the surrounding upholstery.
The Challenge
The damaged vinyl had to be reinforced and rebuilt to restore the shape and integrity of the armrest. The repair also needed to match the original terracotta colour closely enough to disappear into the surrounding upholstery.
The Results
The cracks and tear were fully repaired, and the restored area was finished in a matching terracotta colour. The original vinyl remained in place, with the armrest looking intact again.
I’m really happy with how the armrest turned out. The cracks and tear were pretty noticeable before, and I was worried the only option would be to replace the whole covering. The repair looks great and the colour matches the rest of the interior really well. You’d never guess how damaged it was before.— Patricia Godard
