This dark brown leather sofa and matching two chairs had developed significant wear from regular use. One chair had a large tear at the front of the armrest, with the damage extending through the leather and exposing the padding underneath. Its seat had also developed deep cracks and areas where the original colour had worn away completely. The sofa and second chair showed lighter wear along the seat cushion seams and other heavily used areas.
The first chair required two different types of restoration in highly visible areas. The torn armrest had to be rebuilt so the damaged section regained its original shape, while the heavily cracked seat needed to be repaired and refinished without losing the texture of the leather. The sofa and second chair required more localized colour work so the worn areas would blend with the surrounding dark brown leather.
The damaged armrest on the first chair was restored, and the deep cracks and areas of colour loss on the seat were repaired and colour matched to the original finish. The worn areas on the sofa and second chair were also restored, including the lighter sections along the seat seams. All three pieces now have a more even dark brown finish with the original leather texture and details still visible.
I’m really happy with how the furniture turned out. The chair had a pretty bad tear and the leather was badly cracked, so I wasn’t sure how well it could be fixed. Everything looks so much better now. The sofa and both chairs look clean and well cared for again.— Greg Watkins
