The chair had already developed a tear in the leather armrest when the children got hold of a pen and started drawing on the leather. They covered the back of the chair and the outside of the armrest with pen marks, adding quite a bit of visible damage to a chair that already needed attention. The result was a chair with a torn armrest and pen drawings across two highly visible areas of the leather.
The armrest needed to be rebuilt where the leather had torn, with the repair brought back into the original shape of the upholstery. The pen drawings on the back and armrest also needed to be removed without leaving a noticeable change in the surrounding leather.
The torn armrest was repaired, and the pen marks were removed from the back and armrest. After the restoration, the leather looked clean again and the damage was no longer distracting from the rest of the chair.
I was really worried about the chair after the kids got to it with a pen, especially since the armrest was already torn. The repair came out much better than I expected. The tear is no longer noticeable, and the pen marks are gone. It looks like the chair did before all of this happened.— Keith Laplace
