The sectional was originally a light cream-beige, but the leather had become quite dirty and worn from regular use. The seats and armrests were darker than the rest of the sofa, with visible scuffing and areas where the original colour had worn away. The owner wanted a different colour altogether and chose light cognac.
The main difficulty was working with leather that had already lost much of its original colour and had visible wear across the most frequently used areas. The surface needed to be brought into a condition where the new colour could be applied evenly without the old wear showing through.
The sectional was completely recoloured in light cognac. The new colour runs evenly across the entire piece, giving the sofa a warmer appearance and a completely different look from its original cream-beige finish.
I’d been thinking about changing the colour of our sectional for a while, but I wasn't sure how different it would actually look. The light cognac turned out better than I expected. The whole sofa looks completely different now, and the colour is even across all the sections. We're very happy with how it turned out.— Dawson McGill
